Step-By-Step User Guide
Record Menu
Today, we’re going over the recording modes of the PR-2 and how to use them.
First, On the PR-2, short-press the record button and scroll down to the Mode menu. Here, you can see the three major recording settings.
Bit Depth Options
You have the option of mono or stereo tracks.
Note that 32-bit float bit depth is only available in the Mono track mode.
Record Modes
In record mode, you can pick between three different record triggers. Always, Manual, and Sync Record.
Always Recording
Selecting “Always” will begin a recording the moment the PR-2 turns on and stops recording when the device turns off.
Manual Recording
“Manual” only begins when you initiate it with a long press of the record button or through the Sidus audio app.
Sync Recording
“Sync record” causes the PR-2 to start recording a new file when the device is synced via timecode. It will also start a new file during a recording session if it receives a wireless timecode sync signal from a TC-1.
Note you may lose a small section of audio during the file transition.
Mono Gain Adjustment
Once your mode settings are dialed in, you can scroll to the top of the settings page and dial in your gain.
Stereo Gain Adjustment
If your PR-2 is in stereo mode, you can control the gain of each channel independently.
One thing to note is that the limiter is disabled in 32-bit float mode.
Trigger recording
To begin a recording, hold the record button for three seconds or have it triggered in one of the above ways.
You can end a recording at any time by holding down the record button.
Lock the Device
If you don’t want anyone accidentally stopping the recording, triple-press the power button to lock the device.
Triple-pressing the power button again will unlock your device.
You’re Recording!
You now know how to set up a recording on your PR-2.
