Is the S-Mic 3 better than the S-Mic 2?

The S-Mic 3 improves on elements from the original S-Mic 2, just as the S-Mic 2 improved upon the original Deity Shotgun. Most notable is the fact that the S-Mic 3 was designed to be used in conjunction with the rest of the S-Mic 3-series. This gives you a full toolkit of microphones that should edit naturally together in post.

What colors does the S-Mic 3 come in?

You can get the S-Mic 3 in any color you want as long as the color you want is black.

I plugged my S-Mic 3 into my DSLR camera's 3.5mm jack using an XLR to 3.5mm cable, why isn't it working?

The S-Mic 3 along with the rest of the 3-series of XLR microphone from Deity require 48V phantom power to operate. A camera using a 3.5mm jack for audio does not supply 48V to the microphone. You would be better served by using the V-Mic D4 or V-Mic D4 Mini with your camera.
